How can we weave more gratitude into our daily life? Dr. Christiane Northup recently finished up a year-long gratitude post on Instagram. Each day she recorded a 60 second clip on what she was grateful for that day. Some days were obvious items of gratitude, such a day full of sunshine, other days were not so obvious pieces. Over the last 12+ years I’ve learned the many meanings of the words surrender and faith. When I began learning how to surrender to a situation it felt incredibly scary. I’d had been used to being in control: controlling my situations, planning the outcomes, knowing what to expect.I had faith in myself to bring about what I wanted and I wasn’t crazy about the idea of relinquishing this control to someone other than me. Continue reading
For the last month and a half I’ve been re-reading A Return to Love by Marianne Williamson. The book is her understanding of A Course in Miracles, a written text on how we are each here to open up to love and the search for inner peace in every aspect of our life. Presently I’m reading about money and the bizarre category we’ve put it in. We have learned to push money aside, condemn it, curse it, love it but hate it, pronounce it evil yet greatly desire it, worship it, and overall not quite know what to do with it. I wanted to dig deeper into my own beliefs about money to see where I sat with all this. Continue reading
As I sat down to write this post I thought I knew exactly what I was going to write about…judgement and the way we hang out in it. But it felt so heavy. And I felt judgmental telling you how not to be judgmental. So with the anxiety of a deadline to publish a writing piece I asked the universe to show me the way. Continue reading
The words we speak are a powerful indicator of our internal landscape. They tell the story of who we are. They tell us and others around us how we perceive ourselves and how we perceive our life. Take notice of the words that come out of your mouth. Are they kind? Compassionate? Are they angry or resentful or mean? Are they positive or negative? Our words carry a vibration and energy with them that create our world. They create the life we lead, the friends we attract, the situations that come into our lives. Continue reading
How often do we listen to our inner guidance, our intuition? How often do we go within and ask ourselves for advice? How often do we ask our body what it desires? Have we learned how to check in with ourselves for guidance and answers? Continue reading
My focus this week has been on the love that surrounds me. It has shown up in various ways: through loving thoughts of myself, loving thoughts of others, and love through verbal and nonverbal communication. I have been very mindful this week on how I am responsible for the world I create and all the ways I create it. Do I desire all that surrounds me to be of love or am I ok with some of it being love and some of it not? For me it’s the former. I desire all that surrounds me to be of love. Continue reading
In my last two posts finding balance was a very present issue in my life. It was challenging for me to get to a place where I was ok with taking time off from Christmas to New Years. My ego was holding on tight to my self-created fast train and stopping it was harder than I thought. My plate was too full. This is what was going on: I was anxious. There wasn’t enough time in my day. I thought I wasn’t moving fast enough. Continue reading
Last week I wrote about finding balance during the holiday season. Since then more opportunity for growth, balance and healing has presented itself. After I practiced all that I preached from last week I still found myself anxious. I had let go of items on my work list and interestingly enough it kept filling back up. It felt like time was speeding up and my list was growing longer. My shoulders were tense. My back was tight. I wanted to dig deeper to find what I was still holding onto and why I wasn’t willing to let go of a few items for a couple of weeks. Here’s what has come up so far. Continue reading
I’m so glad you’re here. This is the place where I get to celebrate and share my love of learning and my desire to live a holistic life.
I love the mind body spirit connection. I believe our thoughts and beliefs create our reality; the words we speak become our life; the foods we eat reflect the health we experience. Our life is the direct expression of all that we choose.
